Ferdinand Budicki was the owner of the first car to drive through Zagreb streets, in April 1901. He bought it from Opel & Beyschlag factory in Vienna.

Zagreb started to issue its own driving licences in 1910. As Budicki’s driver’s license was not recognised, he needed to take the driving examination again.

The fun fact is none of the examiners knew how to drive, so Budicki had to teach them to drive first.
