Bundek Park Zagreb – Family Picnic & Playground
Bundek Park Zagreb, after its renovation in 2006, has become one of Zagreb’s favourite Parks and Promenades. A perfect place to spend a sunny day with friends and family!
TIP: FORMERLY IT WAS A NEGLECTED JUNGLE, TODAY IT IS ONE OF ZAGREB’S BEST PARKS. DURING SUMMER PROTECT YOUR SELVES AGAINST MOSQUITOS.
Bundek Park Zagreb is located alongside Sava River in New Zagreb. In fact, the park stretches from the Liberty Bridge to the Youth Bridge.
The lakes formed after it served as a gravel excavation site for Zagreb Fair and the Freedom Bridge.
The park consists of the lakes. You are allowed swimming in the Great Lake during summer as there is a lifeguard service, but we do not recommend it. Although it is called a Great Lake, it is rather small.
Right beside you can find the Small Lake which is a natural habitat for many plant and animal species.
The park provides:
- 10 barbecue sets, barbecues with garden benches and tables
- A cycling and rollerblading track with a length of 1650 m
- A walking track of health, a 700-meter track intended for Nordic walking and running
- 3 children’s playgrounds, one of which is designed for children with disabilities
- 2 sand courts for volleyball and handball
- A stage on water for around 2.500 people
- 2 Bars and restaurants
The Bundek Park is specially visited during summer as it hosts numerous cultural, entertainment and recreational events.

How to get to Bundek Park?
Bundek is easily reachable although we do not recommend taking the tram. You can take trams no. 6 and 7 but you have around 1 km to walk from the tram station to Bundek Park.
For Bundek we recommend taking the public bus from Zagreb Train Station. Buses no. 166, 219, 220, 221, 222, 229, 234, 241, 268 all go over Liberty Bridge. Get off at the first stop after crossing the river.
Parking
There is parking right beside Bundek all through Damira Tomljanovića Street but is nearly always full.
Parking Zone 2. Read our guide about Zagreb Parking, Garages and Zones, Where to Park in Zagreb? We update it regularly with the latest rates, and guides on how to pay for parking in Zagreb.
The parking behind Bundek (at the Sava Riverside) is the most expensive and it costs 120 HRK per day. That is because they do not want you to park there, but only stay for up to 15 minutes and drop off your picnic stuff.
The biggest parking space is across the Većeslav Holjevac Avenue and is your safest bet!
Taxi or UBER is always an option.
