Museum of Arts and Crafts Zagreb

Museum of Arts and Crafts is one of the best museums in Zagreb. With its 130 years of tradition, it is one of the leading cultural institutions in Croatia. A must see for Arts and Crafts lovers!

TIP: THIS IS FIRST PURPOSE-BUILT MUSEUM IN CROATIA. THE MUSEUM HOLDS ONE OF THE OLDEST PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTIONS IN THE WORLD.

Museum of Arts and Crafts was founded in 1880. For this reason, it is one of the first such institutions in Europe.  Its objective to this day is to preserve traditional values of crafts.

The collection is systematically built up by the acquisition of Croatian and European objects, as well as numerous donations. Today, the collection numbers some 100.000 items of fine and applied arts from the 14th-century till today.

The Museum today is exhibiting around 3000 objects in 14 rooms on three floors. The exhibition illustrates a chronological stylistic period from Gothic to Art Déco.
