This privately-owned art gallery is showing works of younger and middle generation of artists. It offers a place for experience, learning, entertainment and social interaction. They think of themselves as a laboratory for art experiments and cultural innovation.
The gallery exhibits a Non-permanent large private collection. For this reason, the exhibits of modern and postmodern Croatian artworks change on a monthly basis. Providing new experiences and stories!
Paintings by Lovro Artuković and sculptures by Kristjan Kožul are among the highlights.
Often, they tend to showcase parallel exhibitions and events, which together form an interactive Lauba program.
Lauba History
Lauba was once an Austro-Hungarian Cavalry Barracks and Zagreb Textile Mill.
During 2007 restoration valuable historical layers of the building were preserved. Such as interior brick walls which were cleaned and given a protective transparent coating. As a result, you get to see every phase of the building’s history and they won the Bernardo Bernardi Award.
Bistro Lauba
The bistro is a place to play. In the first place, it functions as a common meeting place.
The menu is well thought-out and changed seasonally. It is a blend of art and food.
This chic’s bistro signature dish is bread. The beginning and end of every meal.

Lauba is an extraordinary innovative venue. At the same time an elegant one-hundred years old hall.

What can you see and do at Lauba?
You will find yourself surrounded by welcoming and helpful people as well as beautiful art. This stunning century-old military riding arena is an architectural monument on its own.
Lauba is constantly changing its exhibition. Allow yourselves to hear the story about contemporary art in their way.
Bring your children for family weekends and they will lead them through the art workshop. Giving you time to experience Lauba story and relax at their lovely bistro over bread and a glass of wine!
How to get to Lauba?
From bam Jelačić Square you can take trams no. 6 and no. 11 heading towards Črnomerec. Get off at the 6th station, Sveti Duh. From there head South through Selska street for 100 meters. On the right, you will see Lauba, the black building.
