HT Post and Telecommunications Museum showcases the development of Postal and Telecommunications services in Croatia. All the way back to when postal employees carried swords as protection.
It was founded in 1953, but they opened a new permanent exhibit in 1997. For the 110th-anniversary of the public telephone network in Croatia.
The permanent exhibition shows the historical development of telecommunications and postal traffic in Croatia. You will get to see the first hand-operated switchboards, old phones, morse, telegraph and fax machines. But you will not only get to see old phones and postage stamps, you can learn about telecommunication and postal history.
The museum employees are very helpful and can offer technical and historical knowledge.

What can you see and do at the HT Post and Telecommunications Museum?
This is a small museum. Not only does it offer very interesting historical knowledge of modern telecommunications technology. But it also shows the forgotten and often underestimated occupation of postal workers.
You will get to see the first phones, switchboards, fax machines, morse code machines and many other exhibits which all serve as communication tools.
The museum is amazing and not crowded so you might easily get a chance for a private tour.
How to get HT Post and Telecommunications Museum?
The museum is located in the First Postal and Telegraphic Palace of Croatia in Jurišićeva Street 13.
But the entrance is from Palmotićeva Street, just around the corner.
The museum is accessible on foot from Zagreb ban Jelačić square, some 5 minutes walking distance. It is the first intersection with signal light after you enter Jurišićeva Street.
