Glyptotheque Zagreb – Biggest Sculpture Collection in Croatia

Glyptotheque Zagreb is a unique institution. Home to sculptures from Antiquity until the present day. The 1864 former factory is one of the best-preserved industrial buildings in Zagreb.

Glyptotheque Zagreb is a Sculpture Museum and an integral part of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Established back in 1937 their main purpose was to present plaster casts of immovable Croatian cultural heritage monuments.

Since 1950 they have been acquiring Croatian sculptures, frescoes & items of cultural heritage. Today, their museum is enriched with numerous works of Croatian sculpture of the 19th and 20th century!

Up until now they have acquired over 13,000 items. Both plaster casts and original works of Croatian sculpting.

It is located in a previous tannery and leather factory which was built in 1864. One of the best-preserved industrial buildings in Zagreb. In 2000 they added a Sculpture Park alongside the Glyptotheque.

Glyptotheque Zagreb can accommodate business meetings and events.

How to get to Glyptotheque Zagreb?

Accessible on foot from Zagreb ban Jelačić square. Head north, pass through Tkalčićeva Street and Kaptol centre. It is some 10 minutes walking distance from Ban Jelačić square.

Parking
