Dolac market is Zagreb’s main open-air farmers’ market. The place locals buy their food. Full of life and colour. A must see and experience when you are visiting Zagreb!
TIP: YOU WILL LOVE HOMEMADE CORNBREAD YOU CAN ONLY FIND AT THE MARKET’S DAIRY SECTION. THERE ARE LADIES SELLING CORN BREAD THEY BAKED THEMSELVES THAT SAME MORNING.
Dolac market nurtures it’s 80+ years old tradition as Zagreb’s main flea or open-air farmers’ market.
You will feel the vibe of the town and experience local flavours. Traders from all over Croatia colour the Dolac market with locally grown produce.
But be careful there are imported goods as well…
At the Dolac market, you will find fresh and local produce. There is a fish market, butcheries, healthy food stands, fresh pasta vendors, bakeries, cheesemongers, flowers, souvenirs, fruit and vegetables.
Locals love to buy fresh food at the open air markets. Basically, every neighbourhood has its own farmers’ market, but Dolac market is the biggest and the most famous one.
The market operates mainly in the morning. Although the official working hours are up until 3 PM, the safest time to visit is until 1 PM.
It is very close to Zagreb Cathedral so you can easily attend the daily mass as well.

Sunday 7:00-13:00
We recommend to visit as early as possible, but up till 1 pm!
What can you see and do at the Dolac market?
At the Dolac market, you may find flowers, fruit, vegetables, homemade cheese, homemade pasta, meat, fish from the Adriatic and soo much more.
The main part is on an elevated square and there you will find mostly fruit, vegetables and souvenirs. The main part also houses the Dolac fish market where you can find local fish which was brought from the Adriatic that very same morning.
The stalls at the northern end of the market are packed with locally produced honey, handmade ornaments and food.
On the lower, street level you will find mainly meat and local dairy products (+ handmade cornbread).

How to get to Dolac Market?
Easily accessible on foot just north from Zagreb ban Jelačić square.
If you have problems climbing the stairs, there is an elevator on the north side (inside on the street level).
