National University Library (NSB), home of Croatia’s EU Presidency

Let’s start talking a little bit about the venue. National University Library in Zagreb (NSB) is a highly modern temple of knowledge. As such it seems quite fitting to host the EU Presidency there.
Locally known as NSB, it is currently the most extensive library in Croatia. A perfect heaven for exploring and researching.
But as we are a modern society, inside you can find free WiFi, coffee shop and a restaurant.
Unfortunately, it is not open for the unregistered public. But do not despair, you can get a day pass for 30 HRK or a week pass for 40 HRK to experience what this grand building has to offer.
Located only 10 minutes away from the Zagreb Main Train station makes it easy for you to explore the city centre. Likewise, Zagreb has an extensive network of trams, public busses and cheap taxi, UBER or Bolt service. It is easy to travel and explore.
But, even a quick walk around Zagreb Main Train station will satisfy anyone’s needs. The area around the station is packed with excellent bars, coffee shops, restaurants, museums and of course the beautiful green spaces such as the Zrinjevac Park, the charming King Tomislav Square and the flourishing Botanical Garden.
Formal dinners will be held at locations such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Mimara Museum, the Preporodna Dvorana in Opatička Street, and the Croatian Music Institute. All of the named spots are a must-see in Zagreb. So even if you’re low on time to experience everything Zagreb has to offer, you will undeniably enjoy these magnificent locations.
Now let start with my selection of the nearby hotels that guarantee comfort and provide free WiFi, breakfast, and some extras as spa, fitness centre and business rooms.
