Horvátország a világon a legjobban védett immateriális javakkal rendelkező országok közé tartozik.
A Horvát Köztársaság kulturális javai a nemzeti védelem alatt álló kulturális műemlékek nyilvántartása. Zágráb 900 éves történelmével főként osztrák-magyar befolyás alatt állt. Az osztrák-magyar és a szocialista építészet keveréke. Ettől függetlenül a főváros Horvátország kulturális központjává vált, amely a nemzet kulturális sokszínűségének központja. A múzeumok, bár maguk nem védettek, nemzeti jelentőségű, védett kulturális javak gyűjteményeit őrzik.

Croatia has always been at the crossroads between East and West and as such it has amassed a rich cultural heritage. Our culture is characterized by exceptional diversity.
In fact, Croatia is among the countries with the most protected intangible assets in the world.
Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia is a register of all cultural monuments under national protection.
Zagreb with its 900-year history has mainly been under the Austro-Hungarian influence. It is a is a mixture of Austro-Hungarian and socialist architecture.
Regardless the capital has become the cultural center of Croatia holding the nations cultural diversity. Museums, although not protected themselves, hold collections of protected cultural goods of national significance.”
